Empowering communities for Malaria prevention and elimination
Activities
a) Promotion of Long lasting Insecticide treated Nets (LLINs)
b) Health Education and control of Mosquito breeding sites
c) Social Marketing of Indoor residual spraying, LLINs and Mosquito Repellents
Core Intervention 2: Medical Missions with a component of Community Health Evangelism (CHE)
Providing basic care to communities where access to health care service delivery is a challenge, working in partnership with local churches and local health care providers
Activities
1) General patient care, Dental extraction, Basic laboratory tests and Reading glasses
2) Health Education on the prevailing disease conditions in the area
3) Spiritual care and Counseling
Core Intervention 3: Psycho socio support to people living with HIV/AIDS
Activities
1) Adherence counselling
2) Home visits and patient follow up
3) Training on fighting stigma
Core intervention 4: Prevention of Substance Abuse
Over 78% of Uganda’s population is under 30 years of age and majority are unemployed which has led to increased substance abuse especially Alcohol and Marijuana. As a result of this has led to increase in crime, HIV/AIDS, and unwanted teenage pregnancies.
Activities
1) Basic life skills development
2) Friendly health education in schools on reproductive health issues, HIV transmission and prevention messages.
3) Counselling sessions for teenagers
Core Intervention 5: Advocacy and Partnerships
To strategically position DFMs to partner with other national, regional and international stake holders to achieve its objectives
Activities
1) Strategically position DFM’s on forums such as UNITAID, GLOBAL FUND, PREFAR for advocacy
2) Put in place Institutional structures to advocate for DFM’s activities.

Malaria Prevention

With our organization’s mission always in mind, we strive to find new strategies for dealing the challenge of Malaria. Malaria is the number one killer in sub - Saharan Africa. A long lasting mosquito net has been proven as a number one preventative measure for Malaria and Indoor residual spraying. Through the outreach program we encourage and provide mosquito Bed nets to the most vulnerable communities and encourage Indoor residual spraying through social marketing
Free Medical Missions
Communities where access to medical treatment is a challenge
At DORCUS FAITH MINISTRIES, we are dedicated to stepping up our efforts in addressing this inequalities in access to basic healthcare treatment. Providing free medical treatment is by no means an easy feat, but through cooperation and community empowerment we believe we can facilitate progress in this area. With this initiative, our goal is to promote great opportunities for those in need. With access to the right medicines which are affordable and of great quality. We do this on local and global platforms such as Global Fund, UNITAID, PEFAR who influence decisions in the global market
